STRUCTURE

4WD TASMANIA State Executive committee consists of elected positions for President, Vice-president, Secretary and Treasurer, and appointed positions of Public Officer, Insurance Officer, Environmental Officer, Publicity Officer, Driver Training Unit Co-ordinator, ANFWDC delegate and other positions as required. This committee meets bi-monthly at Campbell Town, and minutes are issued to clubs and sub-branches. Sub-branches are in the north and south of the State, these branches deal with issues in their areas. Branches have elected positions of President, Vice-president and Secretary, and are answerable to the State body, as they are under the same constitution and by-laws as 4WD Tasmania. The sub-branches meet bi-monthly at opposite times to the Executive committee. Minutes are issued to clubs and the Executive committee.


FEES

Members of affiliated clubs pay an annual membership fee to their club (the club decides on structure and fee amount).The affiliated club then pays affiliation fees, based on membership to 4WD TASMANIA. These fees are reviewed annually.

4WD Tasmania then pays an affiliation fee to the ANFWDC.


AFFILATED CLUBS

There are 17 Affiliated Clubs in the State with over 300 members.

National Insurance Scheme allows 4WD Tasmania to source Public Liability Insurance. Affiliated club members can choose to insure their vehicles, caravans and camping equipment through this avenue. The scheme is administered at State level by State Insurance Officers, who then form a National Insurance Committee to administer the scheme.

State and Regional Environmental Officers are responsible for track issues, access, maintenance, working bees, etc.

The Publicity Officer answers queries, organises promotional material for events, magazines etc.

4WD Tasmania as a Registered Training Organisation is qualified to deliver a National Standard Driver Training package, developed by a sub-committee of the ANFWDC. This package provides basic, advanced and occupational courses to a national standard, and is available to members, non-members and corporate groups.


BENEFITS OF BEING AFFILIATED WITH 4WD TASMANIA

   · clubs and members have a united voice on issues
   · some areas of the State are only accessible to affiliated club members
   · as a visitor to a mainland State, it is easier to gain access to certain places
   · it provides an information exchange centre, particularly useful when planning local and/or mainland trips
   · 4WD Tasmania keeps a ‘track database’ on tracks in the State, providing information on track conditions, difficulty of the terrain, maintenance requirements and if a permit or key is required for access.
   · gives the clubs an avenue for public liability and motor vehicle insurance
   · ensures the responsible use of recreational vehicles, and adheres to the National Code of Ethics For Four Wheel Driving.
